FFF Midway reminder card Tickets and Tags
That’s right…. I got a card done this round! Yippee! I had to make a birthday card for hubby and here is the result.
Yet again, I used my image HOISTING SAILS. I used it a couple weeks back for a card for my dad. I guess I like it for male cards!
I opened the file in photoshop and reduced the opacity so that it was just a soft grey line and then printed it on watercolor paper. Since I like to use a fair amount of water in my watercoloring and that can cause the black ink to smear, reducing to grey prevents the smearing and it looks more like a watercolor painting.
I am going to be totally honest with you and admit that I hated the look when I was done. I felt the painting was too dark and harsh. I figured I had nothing to loose so I took it to the sink and washed it! Yep, washed it, rubbed it, and got a good portion of the paint off and to my delighted surprise it turned out perfectly soft and dreamy like I wanted. That doesn’t always happen! hahah!
Here is a close up:
I used a brown paper bag which I crumpled and tore and sponged. I stitched the edges of the image which are crooked….oy vey!
I still love it though!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
